You'll need to collect VIP points, the most obvious way is to purchase these with gems, but you'll soon run out of gems if you do that.

Check the VIP icon daily and collect your daily login VIP award, you get more points if you have a long daily streak of log ins.

VIP benefits include greater gather speed, army buffs and quicker action point recovery. Also if you get to VIP 6 you will unblock the second builder queue permanently which is a massive bonus!
