Aethelfaed is a Commander is Rise of Kingdoms, added to the game in July 2019.

'A new legendary female commander: Æthelflæd, the undefeated Lady of the Mercians ruled Mercia in the English Midlands from 911 until her death. She was the eldest daughter of Alfred the Great, king of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Wessex, and his wife Ealhswith. Æthelflæd was known as a great ruler who played an important part in the conquest of the Danelaw and now she will soon be available for purchase at the Medal Store! She excels at Leadership, Peacekeeping, and Support. '

When dealing with Legendary Commanders, our standard advice holds and this is to make sure you don't level them up too quickly. If you want to max out a commanders first skill, then make sure you don't level the commander up past level 10 until you have maxed the first skill. Then go ahead to level 20 and max out the next etc...

The most important skill for Aethelfaed is her first skill, Arrow of Iron as it will reduce the attack, defense and health of up to 5 enemies by 30% for 2 seconds. Effectively reducing a T5 army to T4 level for a limited time.

Once that is maxed, you should probably go ahead and max out Thunderous Force as well, before upgrading Aethelfaed too much, the other two skills are not so important, so after Arrow if Iron and Thunderous Force are maxed, I would go ahead and try to get her to level 60 (or whatever the max level is in the future) as soon as possible.

As a secondary commander, her skills will work well on the battlefield, especially as a secondary to Joan of Arc.

As a primary commander, there are a number of talent nodes that offer increased march speed. Look our for these ones and focus on unlocking those talents first.

My current talent tree is not so well developed for Aethelfaed yet, but I have gone for the increased march speed options in support and peacekeeping, and now in leadership I am heading there, and will also look for talents will will add buffs for on field and city combat.

Look out for Aethelfaed Sculptures in the campaign mode shop. Currently you can purchases up to three of these every day. Remember, don't upgrade her level too high initially. Make sure you have her first two skills maxed out before upgrading her levels fully. These are the most important ones for field battles.
