The More than Gems event, is a time limited special event that encourages you to spend gems in order to gain extra rewards from the game.

During the event is probably the best time to use any gems that you have, provided you have enough to reach a tier that will give you some decent rewards.

You probably only have a good chance of reaching the good rewards if you are a pay to play player as the 4,000 gems spent tier is the one where the prizes seem to get more interesting.
