Whats the best thing to spend gems on?

There are a few options. I like to spend any gems on speedups that are discounted by 70% or more in the Courier Station.

I also will spemd gems sometimes on the Wheel of Fortune, depending on what commanders are on offer, and what the 10 spin bonus chest contains.

There are also gem spending events that come up with no warning, where if you can spend enough you'll get some golden legendary heads. That is usually a good option.

also in some events you can spend gems and if you can complete the event you literally get most of them back as well as a heap of other goodies. The price is usually quite high though, so you'd have to be sure of being able to complete the event to get the benefit.
