Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world RPG that was released late 2020. While heavily compared and most likely influenced by BOTW, the game has gone through a lot of improvements and additional content that continuously proved it as an outstanding title on its own. With Update 1.5, the feature to build and manage your own home or manor has been added. In this page, we will discuss the basics of the Serenitea Pot/ housing system.

What is a Serenitea Pot?

This is a housing/dorm system recently implemented in Genshin Impact where you can choose one of the three realms where your own manor will be placed. Consider it as a separate dimension where you can personalize the interior and exterior of your manor like placing furniture, new buildings, and even animals.

Aside from personalizing your manor and realm, you’ll also gain access to the Realm Depot, a shop inside your Serenitea Pot where you can purchase helpful items like Primogems, Transient Resins, Hero’s Wit, Enhancement Stones, and even EXP potions. These premium items will be available for purchase once you improved your pot’s Trust Rank (which we will cover in detail in another page)

It’s an optional feature that doesn’t get in the way of the main gameplay or story so you’re not required to do it just in case you’re not a fan of this new feature. However, even basic maintenance of your manor (without bothering to design/arrange stuff) will allow you to progress through various Serenitea Pot-exclusive tasks and rewards so there’s really considerable merit for using this feature.

To unlock this feature, you have to complete the quest “A Teapot to Call Home: Part I”. This quest is unlocked automatically once a player is * Adventure Rank 35 and completed the Archon Quest “A New Star Approaches”. The quest is a short one and will just require talking to different NPCs within Liyue. This is also the quest where players are introduced to the new character, Yanfei. After completing the quest, Madame Ping will give you the Serenitea Pot as reward.

How to Access the Serenitea Pot

Your Serenitea Pot is added to your Gadgets tab. You don’t need to equip it; just access your gadgets via your inventory then use the Serenitea Pot to bring it outside. Make sure your character is not in the middle of an action and there’s enough space to conjure the pot. Interact with the pot and choose to go inside your realm. You can do this anytime and anywhere.

As of Version 2.0, you can now build a Sub-Space Waypoint or teleporter inside your realm. You can then teleport directly to your teapot by simply opening your map and switching over to your realm's map.

How to Leave the Pot

While inside your realm, you can bring out the pot and exit through there to get transported to the last location where you opened the pot in Teyvat. Alternatively, you can also open the map menu and switch between your realm and Teyvat. You can select any unlocked teleporter or statue in the Teyvat map to be transported there.

So there you have it; unlocking your Serenitea Pot is really straightforward and simple, especially if you’re up to date with the main story quests. The Serenitea Pot offers a lot of customization options especially for designing your own personal dream realm in the game, a place to hang out with friends, or just something to do to get occupied while earning some useful rewards along the way. Genshin Impact is an ambitious game that really delivers. The Serenitea Pot may not be a thing for all players, but at least it gives avid fans and players something else to do and get occupied. Players with limited and struggling hardware are some of the vocal ones against this feature and there’s really nothing much they can do about it. Either Way, the Serenitea Pot is a very welcome feature for most players.
