Genshin Impact is a live-service and massive, open-world RPG, released on the mobile, PC, and PS4/PS5 platforms. With the release of version 2.0, the awaited cross-save feature is now available, allowing PS4/PS5 users to link their game progress to a Mihoyo email address and continue their progress on the PC and mobile and vice versa. Cross-save is a feature that became available in version 2.0 that allows you to link your PSN and Mihoyo (PC/Mobile) account and share the progress between them. This means you can continue where you left off regardless if you’re playing on the PS4/PS5, PC, or mobile. This can be very convenient for PSN users who started the game on their platform by default and would like to enjoy the game on the go on mobile or higher frame rate and overall better quality graphics on the PC. This also opens up the avenue for mobile users with hardware limitations, in case they don’t have a good PC or mobile, to continue their progress on the PS4/PS5.

There are two exclusive items that are immediately awarded to PS4/PS5 users as soon as they start the game: the Wings of Descension glider and Sword of Descension. The sword is a great starter but will get overshadowed by other weapons as you get them from Wishes. The glider on the other hand, can be a looker, if the aesthetic hooked you in.
So, this begs the question, what happens to the PSN-exclusive items when cross-saved PSN accounts are continued on the mobile or PC? No need to worry, as a PS4 player since launch and who recently enabled cross-save, I got the answers for you.
Wings of Descension
For original PS4/PS5 players who enabled cross-save and are playing on the mobile or PC, they won’t be able to equip this glider. If this glider is equipped to a character, its appearance will change to the default glider (Wings of First Flight). Once you’re playing on the PSN again, you’ll be able to equip/unequip this glider as you normally do.
For players who started on the mobile/PC and enabled cross-save to PSN, they’ll also be able to redeem this exclusive glider. However, the restrictions described above will still apply.
Sword of Descension
For original PS4/PS5 players who enabled cross-save and are playing on the mobile and PC, they’ll still be able to equip this weapon and use it in battle. However, its effect (Descension) will be temporarily unavailable/deactivated. The effect will be reactivated once you’re playing on the PSN again.
For players who started on the mobile/PC and enabled cross-save to PSN, they’ll also be able to redeem this weapon. However, the restrictions described above will still apply.
Incoming PSN Exclusives
Playstation and miHoyo will have a collaboration later this year, which will welcome a free 5-star character, Aloy. Alongside that character, PS4/5 players will also receive the The Predator (Bow). Like the Sword of Descension, The Predator (Bow)’s effect will only take effect when playing on Playstation.

While some restrictions still apply, original mobile/PC players can still get PSN exclusive items. The limitation of being able to use the glider and take advantage of the weapon’s effect only while playing on Playstation can be bummer but if you’re using a good non-exclusive weapon already or if you don’t care about the exclusive glider, then this shouldn’t be something that will ruin your cross-save experience.
