We do like a good merge game over here at AppGamer, and Merge Hotel Empire is one of those! We've put together a beginners guide for the game, which should help you find out how it all works, what's important in the game, and our own tips gained from investing numerous hours tapping away merging things and decorating!

While this game is available on mobile devices, we noticed that it was also available on Google's Play Games for PC, so that's our select format to play through this game.

Getting Started

As usual with these types of games you have to merge into any blocked squares as soon as you can to free up more squares that can be used. In this game, the blocked squares are shown with cobwebs, so whenever you have an item that matches an item with a cobweb on it, merge that item into it to remove the cobweb and make it an active square.

Get rid of the cobwebs

Soon you'll get the Kettle, this is whats known as an item generator. All item generators are shown by their flash symbol on them. When you see that symbol you can tap the item and it will spawn certain items into available squares.

Item Generators to get stuff for the board

Each type of item generator will spawn different things, the kettle for example, will spawn kitchen related items. As you increase it's level, by merging the same item onto it, it will increase it's ability to spawn higher level items, and go for longer without needing a recharge.

You can see from the screenshot, the kettle starts out as a pot, then it goes through stages until it is becomes the kettle and can then spawn items. Find another kettle to increase it's level and abilities.

It can spawn small jars and cups. When it is a higher level it will be able to spawn more things than that and go for longer.

Completing Quests

At the top of the screen you'll see quests that you need to complete. These are generally items that you need to create by merging other items. When you complete each one you have to collect the star rewards. When you get stars you can then spend them to decorate the hotel or perform an interaction in the room scene.

If you don't know how to create a certain item, click the item in the quest at the top and it will show you both which items need to be merged to make it and at the bottom where those items are generated from.

You can also tap on any item on the board, then it will appear at the bottom, then just press the small 'i' to get information as to what you need to merge in order to get that item and where it's item chain comes from.

Completing Rooms

With the star points you purchase or fix furniture, decorate the room or perform some kind of operation in the hotel. When you have completed a room, you move on to the next, that is how progress is made in Merge Hotel Empire. There are loads of rooms to work your way through, and the quests will get increasingly harder as you make your through the game.

Complete Rooms and Move onto the next

Basically complete quests to earn stars, then complete tasks in the hotel scene then open new locations.

Here are a few FAQs to answer some questions you may have in the game.

• How to get more energy?

  Energy comes back over time, you can also get energy rewards on the board. It's best to redeem them if you merge them to their highest level first in order to get the best value from them. You can also use gems to purchase energy in the game.

  

• How long does it take for an item generator to be ready again?

  It depends on the generator and it's level, sometimes it's minutes and sometimes its hours.

• How to get fast food?

  Fast food comes from the picnic basket and includes items such as; bagel, popcorn and sandwich

• How to get more gems ?

  Gems are a great way to purchase some extra energy in an emergency, or to unlock more storage slots. One way to get more gems is to discover more different items on the game board. Every time you find a new item, for example by merging something to a new level, you'll get a gem reward from that. To claim it, head to the stickers page, and there will be a number of how many claims you have to make. Then scroll down and simply find the items on the sticker board and claim the gems.

  You can find the sticker page, by tapping on any room and then hitting the small round star icon at the bottom the page.

  Another great way to get gems is via claiming them when they appear on the game board. But the best way to do this is to merge them until they have reach their max level, this way the number of gems your get as a reward will be more than if you would have claimed all of the gems individually.

• What do energy boosters do?

  Basically just drag an energy booster onto an item generator then you'll get a number of generations for free without using energy. Again, to get the best value from item generators, you have to merge them to their highest level before using them.
