The Squire's Tale is an escape puzzle game from Haiku Games, playable through their Adventure Escape Mysteries app. A quest to find the sword of light and defeat the Monster King.

In Chapter 6 you finally found your way to the Sword of Light, but then Cedrick broke it when trying to retrieve it from the stone. Still determined to defeat the Monster King you travel on to its lair to stop its evil plans.

Collect an Old Key from the bottom of the scene and then also take the gloves from the skeleton on the right. Next tap the rope on the top left to have Cedrick cut it down and collect it. Then tap on the small rock pile to the right of the rope to find a Shield buried in it.

Now use the old key on the red box on the lower left to open it. Collect a Can of Tuna and a Screwdriver. Then use can use the screwdriver on the round cover above the red box to open it. Look inside.

Use the gloves on the garbage inside the hole and you can collect a Fish Bone and a Medallion Half.

Now you can place 2 offerings on the plates to the left and right of the Shark statue. Put down the fish bone and the can of tuna, this makes the statue let go of the anchor.

Add the rope to the anchor and you will collect the Anchor hook. Use the Anchor hook on the balcony of the tower on the right. Instead of being able to climb over there the tower falls down.

Tap the tower to look inside it.

You need to use the shield on the large rock to the left of the green cabinet to move it aside. You can then open the cabinet and collect an umbrella. Now use the umbrella to collect a medallion half on a chain that is hanging out of the hole on the bottom left.

Back out of the tower scene and then you can now use the 2 halves of the medallion on the round hole in the stone block to the left of the fallen tower. This will activate an elevator.

Tap on the elevator doors to see a puzzle to get them open.

  • You need to slide the ball around the maze to reach the exit on the right.
  • There are gates that you need to pass through, as you pass through each one it will turn to change the path you can use.
  • you need to arrange the gates so that you can pass through to the exit.

Elevator

Star Secret: in the mural on the ceiling, you can collect is from near the bottom when you view it.

After using the elevator to reach the bottom level the door way is locked. We need to find a way out. Move the 2 curtains aside and then tap on the rug on the floor to roll it aside.

Collect the plank of wood on the left, notice the clue on the wall behind it. Collect a pink Gemstone from the level indicator above the elevator doors and then also tap on the lower mask on the right to collect another Gemstone.

Now view the button panel on the right of the door, press on the (+) button on the lower right. This iwll open he first aid panel below the buttons.

Collect from the first aid compartment the bandages and a saw. Then yo can use the saw on the bars on the window on the left side of the elevator. You can then look out.

Use the plank of wood on the burning torch to light it. Now open the panel in the floor and look down to see some damaged wires.

Use the bandages on the wires to fix them, then with the control fixed you can view the button panel to the right of the door again and tap the switch at the bottom to turn off the lights. You can now see several glowing faces around the walls.

Next you should use the control panel again and tap on the button for B10. This takes you up to a different floor. Look at the wall outside the doors when they open.

Ad the 2 gemstones that you have to the empty slots. You can then collect a candelabra. You will also see another glowing face.

Also tap to look through the window on the left. On this floor there are 3 stone statues.

Now move to Floor B20 and look out of the window there. Here there are 5 stone statues.

Then do the same for floor B30, 3 more stone statues and the top of the doomsday device.

And finally B40 where there are 2 statues and the bottom of the doomsday device.

B20 Puzzle

Return to B20 and then view the puzzle panel in the opened doors. Use the clues from the statues to set the combination.

Collect a key. Now go down again to B30, we can look at the puzzle on this level.

B30 Puzzle

  • Here you can see 5 faces that match 5 of the faces you have seen on the walls.
  • Each one has a slider to arrange.
  • Set the height of the sliders to match the position of the face on the walls.

Collect a second key.

Move the elevator down to B40 again and look through the doors. Place the candelabra on the hole and then you can use the burning plank to light the candles.

Candelabra Puzzle

  • Notice there are 9 candles.
  • If you look again at the ceiling mural you will see there are 9 stars.
  • Now tap the stars to put out the ones that are white on the mural and leave the ones that are yellow burning.

Collect a third key.

Now you can go back down to floor B50 and use the 3 keys to open the locked door and pass through.

The Forge

You arrive at a forge and Nira is going to try to fix the sword of light.

First tap the red valve wheel on the far left to begin the process of heating up the furnace, then collect a pair of bolt cutters from in front of the furnace door.

Next view the small locked cupboard above the anvil. Use the bolt cutters on the lock to open it. Then collect some Tongs from inside.

Now use the tongs on the ladder on the top right to pull it down so that you can use it. You can then collect a crowbar from the top level. Once you have it you can then also use the crowbar on the level on the top level to the left of the door, this will clean off the green gum that is on it and let you collect it.

Now use the crowbar on the crate on the lower level with the wheel symbol. You can then collect another valve wheel.

Place this valve wheel on the pipe that sticks up out of the fire pit on the right. This will turn and you will see steam rise from a hole in the pipe. Use the gum to fix the hole and then turn the wheel again.

Now you can tap the lever on the top level again and you should have 3 lights on the furnace and the fire will start. Next you need to tap on the floor button on the bottom left of the room to open the door on the top level.

Go though to a store room.

First collect the large hammer from the right side. You then need to identify magical objects in the room. Use the broken sword of light on each objevt and see if they glow.

When you find 3 items you can collect them, you will get the Pitcher of Normalization, the Shield of Screaming and a Magical spoon.

Now return to the forge room and place the 3 items into the furnace flames. Once thay are all in tap the blue window on the side of the furnace to open the drawer and collect the Ore.

Place the ore onto the anvil in the center. You will then start a puzzle to remove the impurities.

Purify the Ore Puzzle

  • Swipe the puzzle pieces in any direction to move them around the box.
  • When 3 or move impurities of the same type touch each other they will be removed.
  • You can undo a single move with the stopwatch.
  • Make sure to end up with at least 3 blocks of the finals items towards the end.

Once the Ore is purified you will collect it. Now place the Broken Sword of Light onto the anvil, followed by the Purified Magical Ore. Then use the Hammer on this to start the repair.

You will then watch the final scene of Cedrick and Martin facing the Monster King.. or not.
