At AppGamer, our favourite normal weapon by far is the Kunai, it's very strong and will target the boss when it appears.
The associated Ninja Scroll skill which you need to get to upgrade the Kunai to Shuriken is also very useful in getting more EXP for each of the dots you collect during the game too.
This allows you to get to upgrades faster during gameplay.

Kunai is best for boses as it fires concentrated fire, Lightchaser is god just cause its rare and the katana is ok
