There are many ways to easily get more gold. The easiest is the Patrol, you can click the patrol tab from the main game screen to collect AFK rewards which includes gold and EXP.
Also check out the Gold Mine when it is available via the Daily Events, this is a good way to grab quite a bit of gold easily.
Completing chapters is probably the best way to get a lot of gold, but as the game progresses, this becomes harder.
