Join an Alliance
When you start a new game in Last Shelter you will be directed through the initial tutorial stages where the game shows you how to build the main buildings and start generating your army. During these stages you will also have the opportunity to join an alliance. You do not need to join one right away but it is highly recommended to find a good one as soon as possible. Without an alliance you will be in danger of attack and more importantly you will not be able to take advantage of all the events and rewards that the game offers.
You can change alliance at any time as well and finding the strong alliance where you fit in will gain you protection, a lot of rewards and some good friends.
Pick a Class
Once you have completed the first few stages you will need to select a class to play as. The class will affect the strengths and weaknesses that you have. You can change the class at any time after this but you can only change for free at certain levels. For more advice on the class system and help picking a class please see our guide for Classes.
Complete Research
As well as the building the other development aspect is research. Building will seem like a priority but always make an effort to do the research items. As you progress and the game starts opening the Clash of Zones event you will have access to the Zone Commemoration research tree. This takes effort to complete but it will greatly increase the rewards you can earn so it is important to concentrate on.
Participate in Events
There are a lot of events in the game, from the hourly challenges to the Clash of Zones and DoomsDay. The events all give the chance to earn rewards which will be the best way to progress in the game. When you start, completing events will be hard, but make as much progress as you can and with each increase in your own power that you make the easier it will be to earn more rewards.
