What is Active Response Phase?
TEPPEN Guide
When a player activates an Action Card, the match will be temporarily paused and enter the Active Response phase. During Active Response, the match timer is stopped, unit attack gauges paused (not reset), and MP accumulation is temporarily stopped. Each player will have 10 seconds to decide what cards to play which is represented by the timer in the middle of the field.
During this mode, both players can react with their own action cards. During this phase, both players are awarded with 2 AMP (Active MP), on top of their current MP. This bonus MP is only usable in the Active Response phase and will be removed once the phase is over. Players can play Action Cards alternately. Active Response ends if one player can’t play any more action cards, runs out of time, or presses the “Resolve” button.
In this mode, you’ll see the effect of the action card used, its cost, and its intended target(s). In the example below, Shockwave will deal 3 damage to the target unit while also giving the opponent 1 AP. Both you and your opponent can see each other’s MP bar as well, which will help in predicting whether your opponent can still play action cards to keep the chain going. We also know that he only has 2 MP, meaning he can only play 2MP Action cards in response, if he has any.
