Morrigan
TEPPEN Guide
Morrigan players need to play mind-games with their opponent and most of the time, bait them into making moves for you to counter. That’s why proper timing and target selection is crucial when you’re playing any one of these decks.
First let’s discuss why Darkness Illusion is the hero art of choice by these high-ranking Morrigan decks. Darkness Illusion destroys ANY enemy unit with the Halt status. You’re not limited by restricting conditions like attack power or MP cost. You can destroy any unit, as long as it is halted. The featured decks have access to cards that inflict Halt like Crystal Hunter, Dark Hold, Anakaris, etc.
Similar to Dante’s deck, Morrigan’s deck has a lot of low-cost action cards, with high MP Resonate cards like 6MP Ibuki, 7MP Hsien-Ko, and Dark Libido Morrigan as the main hitters. Ibuki and Hsien-Ko are powerful units that grow whenever you play an action card. With the help of Hookshot, you can trigger their Resonate effect and turn them into flying units.
Dark Libido Morrigan is a 5MP, 3/5 unit that inflicts Halt on the unit in front of her as her Resonate ability, on top of having the innate ability to bypass halted defenders and deal direct damage to the enemy hero.
Hidden Intent is a powerful negation card card, especially when preventing opponents from using significant action cards that can swing the tide of battle. However, at only 2MP, this card has another heavy cost: half the current life of your hero. As such, play this card only on really tight situations, especially late game when almost clincher plays can win or cost you the game.
Brainwashed is also a great Legendary card to have. At 7MP, this action card is indeed expensive to use but with the right target, you can steal an opponent’s unit and use it against him/her instead. This requires you to have at least one free unit slot in your field; otherwise, the action card will be wasted.
