In the two sample decks, Charge Shot is the hero art of choice for X. When activated, it gives all your units the ability to get +1 attack whenever their HP is boosted, regardless if that’s due to an action card or another unit’s ability. These include heals and permanent boosts. (like what 6MP Chris Redfield does)

As you can see in the sample decks above, both feature low MP HP recovery action cards like Healing (2MP) and Honey (1MP). These will allow you to keep your units healthy during Active Response phase.

When you’re running a full green deck, you can increase your sources of other HP boosting effects, preferably in the form of units so you can maintain field presence. Bubble Crab and Armored Armadillo are some of the good examples since their abilities take effect as soon as you play them. You’re free to substitute this with other units, just ensure that they’re in the 3MP range so you’ll have cheap, sturdy units to defend your hero.

Iris is still the main staple for these sample decks. Her shield and 50% MP charge boost is phenomenal. As long as you can keep her alive on your field, the cost to summon her will be paid in just a few seconds.

Emergency Strike is one of the few green action cards that can actually deal serious damage to a random enemy unit, based on the selected friendly unit’s HP. Since you’ll be healing your units a lot, it’s a great card to have. However, the only caveat is that this card will require a friendly green unit where you can use it on. If you’re running two-colors, including this card can be risky and may affect the consistency of your deck.

Tzitzi-Ka-Yu is a 4MP, 2/5 unit that can inflict Seal on the enemy up front. This effect will stay even after this unit is defeated. The best way to play this card is against dangerous units that grow upon meeting certain conditions (like Resonate, Revenge, or Victory).

Mono-green Charge Shot decks can also consider including the 6MP Felicia, which is a good way to fill your boards with defenders after a board wipe. Upon playing, you can fill your other two empty slots with copies of this card. Follow it up with Charge Shot and an immediate heal and you’ll have full board of 3-attack units.

Ancient Artifact X is a good option for a Legendary in the mono-green version of this deck. Its victory effect is massive and will continue acquiring any defeated unit’s abilities. Imagine this unit defeating an enemy unit with Resonate +X/+X or Victory +X/+X.

The green-purple version of this deck relies on low MP unit cards with Resonate like 1st Hell: Pride, 7th Hell: Lust, and Oro. Oro and 1st Hell are perfect units for this build since they gain HP as their Resonate ability. With the Charge Shot active, they’ll get +1 attack whenever you trigger their Resonate effect.

As for the prominent action cards, Foresight is also a cheap action card that can cycle your hand and put a random card in your EX pocket. That’s why you’ll see this action card in full set whenever purple cards are included. Demonic Intimidation is also a good card to “bounce” defenders off the field and force the opponent to pay their MP cost to play them again. However, the best use of this card is to remove buffed up units, as long as they’re valid targets for this card.

As for the main hitter, Dark Libido Morrigan is a good choice. At 5MP, 3/5 unit that inflicts Halt on the unit in front of her as her Resonate ability, on top of having the innate ability to bypass halted defenders and deal direct damage to the enemy hero. With the Charge Shot effect active on her, you can use a heal card on her to keep her HP up, trigger her resonate, and buff her attack, all at the same time! However, since she’s a legendary, you can only have one copy of her in your deck.

(Megaman) X

This deck’s weaknesses include drawing a full hand of action cards and weakness to flying units. You can include Hookshot to give your purple units the Flight ability while also triggering their Resonate ability but you’ll have to trade in some healing cards. If you play your cards right, you can quickly overpower enemy units, even “counter” black destroy cards that target cards based on their attack power while Charge Shot is active.
