What are Heroes?

Heroes are the “representatives” of the deck you’re using and what you’ll see battling each other out during matches. There are 8 heroes in the game, 2 for each color as listed below, each with their respective deck builds, strengths, and weaknesses:

* Chun-Li

* X

* Morrigan

* Dante

* Albert Wesker

* Nergigante

You can unlock all heroes by completing the single player story mode. We strongly recommend doing this first so you can unlock their respective basic decks as early as possible. This will give you access to more cards to play around with, decide which hero you want to use, and build your own deck surrounding that hero’s arts.

A “hero” is not counted as a card but they do have their card counterparts, usually around MP cost 6 or above. You’re not required to include heroes’ character cards on their respective decks, especially if they don’t offer anything for your deck build.

Heroes earn EXP and level up when you use their decks in winning matches (this includes practice matches and story matches). Aside from unlocking their other Hero Arts, leveling up heroes will give you rewards like zenny and additional basic cards from their respective decks.
