What are Action Cards?
TEPPEN Guide
There are two main card types in the game: Unit Cards and Action Cards. Action Cards can be easily considered as the “spells” in the game with varying effects like providing buffs to allied units, damaging enemy units or hero, healing allies, etc. Similar to unit cards, they have their own MP cost and get sent to the graveyard after their use. You'll need valid targets for your action cards; otherwise you won't be able to use them.
Most ACs have straightforward effects but there are ACs with bonus effects like Art Charge 1 or Art Charge 2 which also boosts your AP by the 1 or 2 respectively on top of the AP you’ll gain from spending MP to play the card and the AC’s effect. Consider including these cards in your deck as long as they’re of the same color and will help improve your deck’s synergy.
Like UCs, ACs also has rarities. Higher rarity ACs will often offer better effects but you’ll have to watch out for Legendary cards. Because of they have effects that can directly impact the match, you can only have ONE COPY of a Legendary card in your deck at any given time. You can include multiple Legendaries, but with only one copy for each.
Once an Action Card is played by any player, the match will be temporarily paused and will enter the Active Response phase. The other player is given 10 seconds to react with his/her own action card. If that player counters with his/her own action card, the player that played the first AC can also play another AC. This will continue until a player can’t play any more Action Cards, the timer runs out, or the other player presses the “Resolve” button to end the Active Response Phase.
Action Card Tips:
1. Keep a higher number of Unit Cards in ratio of Action Cards. These can be adjusted according to your deck's needs like decks that rely heavily on the Resonate mechanic. As such these decks may have a higher number of Action Cards than Units.2. Consider including action cards with Effects that goes with your deck and your hero’s synergy
3. Due to the limited amount of ACs you can include in your deck, consider the timing when you’ll play them. Playing them too early or late can affect your chances at victory.
