What are Unit Cards?

Last Updated:

There are two main card types in the game: Unit Cards and Action Cards. Unit Cards are characters that can be deployed in any of the three slots in the board. They are used to attack enemy unit cards or the opponent’s hero directly. In this article, will examine the different types of Unit Cards and their properties.

This is a common unit card. Please see the labels on the screenshot below for more information.

What are Unit Cards?

* MP Cost: The MP required to summon this unit and place it on the field.

* Attack power: Damage the unit can deal to an enemy unit or enemy hero. Can be boosted with the help of other card effects or Hero Arts.

* HP: How much damage the unit can take. If it reaches 0, the unit will be destroyed and sent to the graveyard. Can be healed or buffed with the help of other card effects or Hero Arts. A UC can be healed or buffed with the help of other card effects or Hero Arts. A UC’s HP can also go beyond its default limit, which is the core strength of specific decks like X’s X-Tank build.

* Copies: There are deck limitations on how many you can put in a deck at any given time. You don’t need extra copies of the card once their number exceeds the deck limit. For example, the deck limit for ordinary cards is 4 copies max per deck; the succeeding copies can be used for reaping.

This is an example of a Rare unit card. Rare hero cards usually have effects which different trigger conditions. Simply tap on the highlighted effect to see the effect’s explanation and other information.

This is an example of an Epic unit card. Epic hero cards will have varying degrees of usefulness. Some will have two effects, others have higher stats for their MP cost, while others have a combination of high stats with two effects.

What are Unit Cards?

This is the example of a Legendary unit card. They usually possess exceptional effects that can have a major impact in the battle once they’re played. Because of this, you can only have ONE COPY of a Legendary card in your deck at any given time. You can include multiple Legendaries, but with only one copy for each.

Unit Card Tips:

1. Keep unit cards of the same color as much as possible, especially if you have effects that target color-specific units. You can switch to at least a dual-color deck as long as you have good cards that can complement each other and make your deck work.

2. Keep a variety of units with varying MP costs. It won’t help having too many powerful, high MP units if the enemy can play multiple, low MP cards to overwhelm you.

3. Adjust the ratio of your Unit vs Action cards, according to your deck's needs. For example, decks that rely heavily on the Resonate mechanic may have a higher number of Action Cards than Units.

4. Aim to include cards with Effects that goes with your deck and your hero’s synergy

5. Consider including a set of “blockers” or “stallers”. These are unit cards with low attack but high HP or other delaying effects like damage reduction/shield that will help buy you time and survive long enough to recharge your MP or play other cards.

6. Always Lock high rarity cards to avoid accidental reaping.
