Why do attackers still loot my cash even when it's below depot protection?

Why do attackers still loot my cash even when it's below depot protection? My depot protection is 1M and I have 700K. The battle log showed 81K was looted. My game version is dated 03/29/2019.

I think there is an ability that lets them loot protected stuff. I can’t remember the details.
