Why is my production rate lower than others?

My friends base and oils wells are lower than mine but his production rate is higher.

The production rate will depend on the level of the building, and any heroes that are stationed at it. If your friend has a good hero stationed with the right skills unlocked, this can greatly increase the production rate.

For oil wells try to acquire the Oil Tycoon hero.
