What is defeat casualties in Battle Report?

What is defeat casualties in Battle Report? Because what I did was send all my APC to a far away zombie to protect my troops but someone attacked me and there are no kills or wounded but there is defeat casualties. I have some troops left in my base which are not deployed in any APC, are these the defeat casualties? And are they counted as points in a Kill Event? Thank you!

Yes the defeat causalities are as you said. The game will generate some losses on your side from remaining troops even if they are not directly fighting. I cannot confirm if they count as points in a KE but I image that they would.
