What does it mean when it says "march target changed" and won't carry out the march.?

Many of the items in the world (Wendell, Zombies, resource plots) change on a regular basis. They disappear and others spawn in in new locations. This may be why you are getting the message if you are heading to one of these.

If its a player enemy then possibly they moved location or shielded.
