What happens to troops if you have no more food?

You won't actually run out of food as the troop food consumption stops when supplies are low. It will say that you are using food faster than you can grow it but it will actually be increasing. You just won't be able to save much food. Make sure you are completing daily challenges and other tasks to earn food box items to use when you need to make building upgrades and do research.
