How do you do an Area Cleansing Operation?

The Area cleansing operation is one of the events. It runs for a long time and during it you can earn points for attacking zombies and doing a few other research tasks etc. You only earn points for the first time you complete a set task such as kill level 4 Ancient Zombies.

The points add up and you can exchange them for a new hero or some other items on offer.
