When you abandon tiles during DD, do you lose the season points that you gained? Also, when you abandon and retake tiles, do the season points get lost and gets gained or does it just add on (not losing the points when you abandon tiles)?

No you don't lose season points. You will gain more every time you occupy a new tile. Keep dropping and taking more tiles when you can. Your influence value will go up and down with the number and level of tiles you hold.
