I need to know how to transfer my status as Commander (R5) to someone else. It was put on me, and I really don’t want it.

Go to the alliance menu and the Members tab. Find the member that you want to make Leader and tap on them to open their details. There should be an option to 'Transfer Commandership' or similar. You may need to make the member R4 first if they are not already.
