There are rewards for the top players across the 2 zones each day. Go to the clash of zones event screen in the events menu, then tap on Today's Event at the top. Scroll down to the bottom to see the 'Personal Ranking' Reward for being the top player. At the very bottom you can then also tap on 'View all rewards' to see the rewards for the top 20 players.
