I decided to go the construction route and went all process speed increase. Should I have split it like half “speed increase” and half “maximum processing at once” or went all maximum processing at once ?
Right now I’m 14 levels in and producing like 204k per 6 hours

I don't think there is a best route here, only what works best for you. Processing is done so that you can earn the materials for more upgrades, especially for the virus research buildings to increase your immunity. If your processing is keeping up with the amount of resources you are harvesting then you are doing fine.
