This will depend on what you have available and what you need to do. Ideally you want all three hero slots unlocked with fully upgraded orange heroes. Then troops placed depending on need. A mix of fighters, vehicles and shooters will work quite well against zombie opponents.

If you have developed specific parts, or have the war room buildings upgraded them there will be benefits to having an APC will only 1 type of troops in it.

APC's will full fighters will have a lot of destructive ability which can be helpful in Doomsday Conquest when taking over plots.

APC's with full vehicles are much faster so will be w benefit when attacking in doomsday war and travelling in general.
