Any tips to get orange hero other than sale?

To get more orange heroes you need to keep using the orange Super Recruitment tickets, although you can also get orange heroes from other tickets. But it is even more rare than from the orange ones.

There are free chances every day but to get more tickets without paying you need to complete activities in the clash of zones event to get to the third box. (double tickets if you have completed the zone commemoration research), at some levels you can also get orange tickets for clash of zones daily wins by your state.

There are also some awards that give you guaranteed orange hero tickets. These are rewards from your alliance for doing well in the doomsday conquest event for example.

Keep an eye out for other occasional events that offer tickets as rewards.
