Training Troops
Army Men Strike Guide
One of the most important objectives in the game is increasing your power. To do exactly that, there is no easier than simply training troops. Training troops is basically enlisting more soldiers at your disposal. The bigger you collect, the stronger your army becomes. However, in order to get stronger units, you also have to constantly upgrade the buildings that train them.
In the game, there are four types of army units. Concurrently, each of these units have their own training building/facility. Every time you upgrade a training building to a certain degree, you'll get to unlock stronger versions of the army unit that it produces.
Tip: Now if you are thinking what to do with previous army units that you already have when you do get to unlock a better version of that unit, simply visit your "Parade Ground", and pick the "Promote" option. This will show all the units that are currently at your base, and from the list, pick the ones that you wish to promote (to transform to the latest version of the unit). As usual, it will take time and resources to promote these units.
The Four Types of Training Building includes:
Tank Factory - trains/produces armored vehicle units like Jeeps, Tanks and similar units. To unlock better units, you will have to upgrade the facility several times. In between the upgrades, aside from increasing your overall power rating from the facility upgrade, you'll get extra stat bonuses for the currently available unit. Additionally, apart from being stronger in attack compared to their previous versions, better versions of these units are also better at resource gathering -- meaning they collect more resources every cycle.
Commando Unit - trains/produces infantrymen like Raiders, Bomb Lobbers, Combat Sappers and similar foot soldier units.
Copter Factory - trains copter type units like the Recon Copter, Apache, Attack Aircraft and similar airborne units.
Artillery Factory - trains/produces artillery units like the Howitzer, Cannon, Heavy Missile Launcher, and similar units.
Additional Tips for Training Troops:
Increasing Training Capacity and Speed
Every time you train a particular number of units, you'll have to somewhat pay a fee in the form of resources (both pain and plastic). This is one of the limiting factors in training soldiers, but during your first few days in the game, you'll be given tons of resources from supply chest and different bonuses that the game will throw at you. To the slightest of achievements (say upgrading a facility), you'll be rewarded with resources.
Say you have plently of resources to produce a lot of units, the other part of the limit is the amount that you wish to train at a time will be limited to a number depending on the number of Mold Factories that you currently have in your base, as well the level of upgrade each of them have. Having more Mold Factories will not only let you train more soldiers at a time, it will also make you train them faster.
You may use both the training speed-up resources and versatile speed-up resource to cut back on the wait time producing the soldiers. But since it is relatively easy to reach level 10 to 12 command center in your first week of the game, you might want to reserve your speed-up resources for the stronger units that you might be able to unlock a bit later on. Moreover, you will have an Aegis protection for the first 3-days in the game which would render you invincibility from other plundering players -- which means you are not really required to immediately put up an army.
Nonetheless, it is important to have a few on stand by as they are necessary to be able to meet the full requirements of 2300 points in your daily quests, as "Gathering Resources" through battlefield expedition is one of the usual requirements.
Apart from the usual training regimen, you can also make your army units stronger in a couple of ways. First is with "Special Training". Special Training is another option when you click on a training building. Basically, this will create a unique, elite-version of the unit. This is only available to untrained soldiers that are at least level 5. There are a variety of special training courses for your troops but you can only perform one for every soldier. What this will do is basically improve the attributes of the soldier. To enlist a soldier, you should first get a "Special Training Course" in you Joint Military Exercises or from gift packs.
Another way to improve your units is to "Strengthen" them. To do this, simply click on the facility that trains them, and click on the "Strengthen" option. What this will do, will passively upgrade the attributes of the soldier that it trains/produces. To perform this action however, you have to pay a special resource called "Spray" which can be found in various packs. It can permanently improve on a variety of attributes (to the units being produced) including Attack, Load, Speed, HP, and Defense.
