Resource Collectors
Army Men Strike Guide
To fuel the growth of your army, you'd need to pay some equivalent amount of resources -- resources that you ought to at least mine or secure at a constant pace. To do this, you basically need to put up a bunch of resource collectors in your command center.
Resource collectors vary depending on the resource that they produce and are upgraded to increase the maximum capacity it could hold at a time, as well as the volume it produces every hour. Apart from this, you may research about technologies dedicated in "resource collection" in your Lab Facility to increase the efficiency of your collectors.
There are five types of resources that you can earn from four different resource collectors in the game. The first two produces plastics and pain, while the other three, electricity, metal, and spray -- you'll be able to earn when you reach levels 10, 15, and 17 respectively. The introduction of these resources are separated to probably ease you in the different requirements of each army unit that you'll be able to train. As the training facilities get upgraded and unlock better fighting units, the tendency is that they would require more resources of one kind, or an increasing collection of the different resources.
During our game, Electricity is introduced as we reached level 10 HQ, which would coincide with upgrading your training facilities to level 10 -- unlocking units that requires Electricity for you to produce/train. This is also one major reason why higher level Corps (or more powerful Corps) require members to be at least level 17 HQ before they even get the chance to join (as it would mean they have access to units that are produced in similar level of facility at least).
Nonetheless, here are the four types of resource collectors in the game, and useful additional information about them, and the resource they produce.
Paint Bottle - is where Paint resource is produced and (temporarily) stored. Upgrading it will result to increments to the total income capacity per set duration of time. The image below shows the pertaining level of the facility, the volume it produces per hour, the maximum capacity it can hold (until collected), and the power it imparts to your command center.
Plastic Mold - is where Plastic resource is produced and (temporarily) stored. Upgrading it will result to increments to the total income capacity per set duration of time. The image below shows the pertaining level of the facility, the volume it produces per hour, the maximum capacity it can hold (until collected), and the power it imparts to your command center.
Battery - unlocked at level 10 HQ. It is where Electricity is produced and (temporarily) stored. Upgrading it will result to increments to the total income capacity per set duration of time. The image below shows the pertaining level of the facility, the volume it produces per hour, the maximum capacity it can hold (until collected), and the power it imparts to your command center.
Magnet - unlocked at level 15 HQ. It is where Metal is produced and (temporarily) stored. Upgrading it will result to increments to the total income capacity per set duration of time. The image below shows how the pertaining facility looks like when built in your command center.
Spraycan - unlocked at level 17 HQ. It is where Spray is produced and (temporarily) stored. Upgrading it will result to increments to the total income capacity per set duration of time. The image below shows how the pertaining facility looks like when built in your command center.
Note: "Maximum Capacity" indicates the maximum amount of resources the facility can temporarily store. If this value of resource is reached, the facility won't produce any more resources unless the player collects it (which is automatically transferred to your pool of resources)
Additional Useful Information:
- You may research technology in your "Lab" about resources (Resources I & II) which will increase the number of resource you can gather per facility by a huge margin -- especially when maxed out, which gives you an additional 20% of production or up to 15% increase in gathering speed.
- All types of resources can also be gathered in the battlefield, using your army units. Different icons in the battlefield reward you with a certain volume of resources. Level 1 of this icon would normally give you 140K+ total value of that particular resource, and doubles up in value as the level of the icon increases (e.g. Level 2 icon has a total value of 280K+ of resource). Gathering speed and maximum gathering capacity depends on the officer and volume of soldiers you are sending, and can also be buffed/boosted with technology that you can research (Resource Assortment Technology in Officers I section), or by using special items to boost your gathering speed.
- Participating in counterattack in special operations can earn you resources fast. When you take part in the counterattack (found inside the special operations), you can earn loots for beating/breaking the tan army enemy lines. When your VIP mode is activated while performing this task, you'll end up doubling up on the loots you earn whenever you succeed. Use these loots to purchase resource packages. 300 loot credits can purchase 500K worth of paint or plastic. You can easily break the line up until you earn 1800 or so loot credits -- which would mean you could easily earn 3 million worth of resources. You can do this everyday as the countdown counter resets every 24 hours.
- Perform Daily Quest can also be a good way to easily stack up on extra resources fast. Whenever you take part in this, you gain extra resource every step of the way. Additionally, there are fine items to find there as well especially when you reach the tier 5 bonus.
- Increase your VIP level. As you increase your VIP level in the game, you technically increase all of its boost as well. One of which is increasing your Resource income by a certain percentage (e.g. Level 5 VIP activates an additional 12% increase in all your resource income). This is on top of the boosts you gain from researched technology and levels of upgrade on the resource collector itself.
- For new players (as newbies would usually miss this), it is possible to build multiple resource collectors of the same type. The usual maximum number is 8 facilities, and each one would gather resources independently on its own (computing the value it produces from the pertaining level of the facility plus all additional boosts).
- Don't use resource packages unless necessary. This is a good technique to avoid having your resource get plundered or for you to have backup resource when you eventually get plundered by other players -- as they could only earn resources that is currently in your pool.
- There are occasions where a special event will enable you to trade resources plus 1 gold to hefty reward items like hour/s long speed-ups, 100K EXP items, Troop Gathering Boosts, etc. So it is a good practice to keep gathering lots of extra resources whenever you can.
