How can I defeat a sinister miner? Everytime I tried I got severely beaten.

Without knowing your legion or troop level it is hard to identify your problem. My suggestion therefore is upgrade your heroes, training ground and troop buildings. Increase the amount of troops and the level of troops. It is also very important to do military research to increase your troop might and resistance
