How to make a merger between two Alliances?

The R5 of both alliances have to agree on some terms. The most important term is to decide who will be the R5 and R4 positions. You can rotate the R4 and R4 positions or just abdicate the power to one if them.

Then merger can happen in two ways.

1. In-game merger. As the total number of members can not exceed 100 after the merger, the respective R5 needs to kick out unworthy members. After both alliances have reached to the agreed number of members, an R5 can move ahead with the merger. An R5 can offer to abdicate her/his alliance to the other. The option is available to every R5 in the alliance management menu. Best choice to abdicate the alliance with poorer alliance technology to the one with better alliance technology. Once the other R5 accepts the offer of abdication through the alliance management menu, new members will be added as R1 to the recipient alliance.

2. Out of the game merger. After the R5 of both alliances have agreed to the terms, both R5 ask selected members to switch between their alliances. This way, you save the pain of kicking out members. After the switch is made, the R5 of weaker alliance puts someone else (or another account of her/his) in charge of R5 and leaves to join the other alliance. That way you get to keep your friends and make a stronger alliance as well. The R5 of the recipient alliance will have to make the hard decision of kicking out members who would not want to leave. If s/he fails to act, the new alliance will also be doomed to fail.
