AppGamer Answered:

In the world map you will have a magnifying glass icon in the lower left area. Tap this and select the middle (food) icon to then let you search for resource plots. You can also just look around for them. There are normally plenty of resource plots around you and once you learn what each type looks like they are easy to spot.
