Why does my balloon arrives at world reset all of a sudden?

The trading balloon should appear the first time the game detects you logged in after reset. The time it stays for and the cooldown time before it comes again will depend on the level of the building.

Each morning when I log on for the first time the balloon is already gone. How does the game 'detect' you logged in?
