How come when I send a small number of troops to mine level 3 and 4 diamonds, they turn right back..

How come when I send a small number of troops to mine level 3 and 4 diamonds, they turn right back around at destination and don't mine the diamonds?

The locations refresh frequently, and you can send troops to a location to fight or mine and the location can disappear before you get there. This should happen less if you use locations closer to your castle location.
