What happens if a state steals the throne from another state?

What happens if a state steals the throne from another state? ie: SvS happens at the same time as Battle for the throne in that state. Can my state steal the throne from the other state, and if so, what happens afterwards?

During battle for the throne each state can try to take the enemy states Throne. Whichever alliance occupies the throne (in either state) will be able to appoint the Emperor (usually the alliance leader) for the next week.

If an enemy alliance occupy it then their leader will be emperor and can decide about giving debuffs to the state players and can decline to place the province quest buildings to stop the state from being able to sent to the province quests.

But do they stay in your state? Can they still attack you?

So if you take the throne of an enemy state only the emperor will get buff? Or can he allocate buff to his alliance as well
