I can't figure out how to feed my dragon for the 10,000 experience points?

I can't figure out how to feed my dragon for the 10,000 experience points? I can only feed it the meat that only gives me the 1,000 experience points every time

The 10k experience items (meat) are occasional rewards when attacking the monsters / marauders in the world map. I think hitting high level ones 10-15 gives the best chance.
