Trying to build outside the walls says cannot connect the road in current position?

It may be that you need a gate so that a road can be built to any buildings or farm plots. All builds need roads so that the products can be moved to the warehouses or defense support can reach buildings. A road is automatically added to any new structure and then you approve the payment if it is where you want it to be. Each road tile is 10 gold i think
