How do you use the speed ups in the store?

Speed ups can be bought from the items store for gems and from the alliance store for alliance contribution points. Once bought they go into your item inventory.

When you are doing an upgrade / research / training etc and chose the speed up option then you will see a list of all the speed ups that you have (from buying or rewards) that is when you can use them.
