I want to upgrade my Castle to level 8 and it says I can't because I will lose my war protection?

I want to upgrade my Castle to level 8 and it says I can't because I will lose my war protection? What does this mean?

This is just a warning. It doesn't mean that you can't, only that you will lose the shield when you do. The shield will go after a few days anyway. You can buy shields for use in future although when you are starting out tin the game they are hard to afford for diamonds. Eventually you will be able to earn them in rewards. The aim of the game is to keep upgrading and getting stronger, so go ahead and upgrade.

Should i keep upgrading until I can’t upgrade anything anymore and Then level the castle to level 8?

That’s exactly what I am doing. I am new to the game bur it makes sense: Upgrade and build lots of troops before upgrading castle to LVL 8.
