Upgrading my resource bldgs. Doesn’t increase my protection. It is a constant 800. That is trivial when you have millions before being attacked. Can I increase protection lvl.?

Depot protection comes from 2 sources and the main one is a Farmer specific perk only. If you are a farmer then the higher your castle level the greater the protection you get.
For everyone there is also some protection level from alliance technology research. Make sure you are in an alliance and that the members contribute to the Resource Protection items under the 'Develop' tree.
