I get the town hall is to station but how do you station the hero that says station in training grounds? I am searching for this I cant find it.

Combat heroes are stationed in the training grounds, this means to add them to the legion formations. You can do this via the legion screen or via the training ground buildings.
You need to do the research for each legion to unlock the hero slots, you can then add them and use their skills to improve the legion capabilities.
