Since I teleported to a new site, my town gate has been locked and I have been unable to explore.

How do I reopen my gate ?

You should be able to send your workers to explore by opening the worker list (button top left) and choosing the explore option (if you workers are idle). Your location should not matter.

This did not help. The game response is "the gates are shut you cannot explore".

Thanks for the reply, not sure what is wrong then. What level is your castle? Did you just teleport to a different spot in your own province?

Something is blocking the gate and the worker is unable to get out. Clear it and you can send the explorer.

how do we remove a blocking structure?

it seems you have placed a structure on the route to the gate thats why it is throwing message like that
