What gives points for the technology progress in donations?

What gives points for the technology progress in donations? I am donating all day long to the highest possible donating buff (7k) and sink all my diamonds possible in the same place, but people still manage to pass me. Is there something I'm missing?
Click on the left arrows (>>) in the middle of the screen when you are in the castle.
This will unfold the "Overview" menu.
Scroll down to "Alliance" and click on blue "Go to" button after "Technology".
You will see the entire list of all alliance technology items you can donate to.
Click on each to see below "Obtain" how much points you will get for completing
donations (you can complete donations often a day).
The last items (bottom of listing) give you the highest amount of points.
The further upwards you go the less points you will get.
