How do I expand my castle grounds area? I want more space o put buildings, roads etc.

The first few expansions happen as part of the story / tutorial. After that you need to look around the outside of the wall for a section with a padlock.
You can only expand the sections in a set order so you need to find which place allows you to unlock. Tap on the padlock icon and it will tell you the cost to unlock that area.
