House Build
The Sims™ Mobile Guide

Added:

True to the spirit of all sims games, sims mobile enable you to do just what the original sim game is famous for - to build and customize your very own house. You've got this massive catalogue of furniture, ornaments, the assorment of basic house components like doors and windows, kitchen counters, bathroom fixtures, and typically just about everything under the sun.

And though it might seem perplexing and quite frustrating to design your house from mere swipe gestures on your smartphones, there is actually an easy way to get to the "build mode" of the game where you wont have troubles in picking up stuff and dragging them to places where you want them to be (check the video below).

Swipe / Click Gesture - Action

clicking on sim icon - auto focuses on sim avatar and follows it.

one hand swipe - pans the camera along the swipe direction

two finger rotation - rotates the perspective of the camera

two finger swipe out - zooms in the camera

two finger swipe in - zooms out the camera

To get to the build mode, click on the build icon (found on top of the "Quests Button"), and when the window pops out, you may check for the selections to purchase as they are sorted out by categories. Additionally, you can also access your inventory in this window. Simple pick the invetory button on top (box like icon), and select the item that you want to access. To hide the item selection window and stay on "Build Mode", simply click the drop down arrow on the upper right side of the window (next to the exit icon).

Doing this will show you a full view of the place which you want to decorate. Although you can easily move things around when in normal activity mode, this mode is particularly helpful if you are in need to pick up some things lying on the floor like mats (which are almost impossible to do when in normal mode), or if you want your sim to be still in one place while decorating. Additionally, you'll see grid pattens in the floor to give you some sort of reference of balance while building/decorating.

Tips:

-The icons on the build mode sometimes show a red marker on top of the icons. What this mean is that you have a newly unlocked item in this specific category. You may want to check them from time to time as they usually reveal new content or are necessary to unlock a certain portion of the game.

-When the camera gets crazy and sends you elsewhere (happens all the time when decorating), simply click on your active sim's icon(at the bottom of the screen), and it wouldautomatically focus on that particular sim. It would even automatically follow the sim if it is performing an event.

-To easily put up things that will perfectly go together, check the home item collections as the things to purchase there are already sorted to match each other, or go together, and are classified by the particular area of the house they belong to (e.g. bedroom, bathroom, living room, etc.). Top it off with a nice color of floor and wall and voila! A perfect new room in your house.

-Mind the resource that a particular item needs for purchase. There are some really good stuff in the game that you can procure with just Simoleons. Try to stick to this in the earlier parts of the game, as Simoleons are pretty abundant while SimCash tend to be quite more difficult to come by.
