The Sims™ Mobile Guide
Playing through the tutorial phase of the game can probably propel you through the basic mechanics of the game, but truth be told, it wouldn't really get into the details of actually getting around the game's interface. For some, this might even be frustrating as it becomes all too difficult to simply move things around in your house, even finding the newly unlocked things that you just earned can get tricky, or to get the stuff the you accidentally stored in your inventory.
There are the instances too where you need to go someplace, and then the game crashes, and for some reason, you do not know where to go to. The guide below should easily familiarize you with the basic interface of the game, and how to actually/properly do the stuff that you actually need, or how to get in and around the places that you want to.
Navigation Basics
Navigation through the game can easily be mastered by basically remembering four important locations; your house, your workplace (different for every sim), other sims' house parties, or the town spots. Every set location in the game has its own purpose where you generally do your work gigs, purchase items like new clothes, unlock stories, go on dates, or simply go about your daily tasks.
Going to and from different locations in the game wouldn't cost you resources or energy points, and you can even move back and forth your house and your work in-between your shift (which is nifty especially during the times that you need more energy and you could use some shower to kick it up a notch). In the beginning, you will go back and forth your house and workplace, but as you level up, you'll be introduced with other locations in the game like Izzy's Fashion Shop, other player's house parties, and then later on other locations in town like for instance the fashion studio, the medical center, and what not.
To get you around the different places in the game, you can simply click on the "Car" icon beside your sims' avatars at the lower left part of the screen. When you click this button, there are usually two (or three depending if you are in a party) icons there -- as seen on the video below (mind the visual touch feedback to see which part of the screen we're touching).
The house icon brings you to your home, the briefcase (sometimes a star) icon brings you to your work place (goes to the work place of the currently selected sim character), the the location icon brings you to a number of different location in town.
Locations found in town includes:
Parkside (initially available for cafe work)- here you can access the cafe, the park, and Izzy's Fashion Shop.
Market Square (initially available for restaurant work)- here you can access the restaurant, the fashion studio, and the medical center
Downtown (Requires Level 15) -
Waterfront - (currently unavailable)
However, to get you to other people's parties, you'll have to access it on the arrow button on the right side of the screen. When the button expands, it shows you 5 different tabs. The first and top most tab is labeled "Parties" -- which is where you are suppose to find on-going parties, or get back on the parties that you are attending. Whenever a party ends, this is also where you also access their concluding rewards.
You'll also be able to see details about the parties that you are currently attending like; the party's current level, the person throwing the party, and the time duration left before it ends. Other tabs includes Facebook Connect (to find friends that are playing the game), Messages (to message friends on your friends lists), Inventory (where you access special items in the game like tickets, and boosts items), and the game's settings (for notification, sound settings, and what not).
To get to and from different people's parties, simply do the same accessing the arrow button on the right side of the screen, pick the parties tab, and pick whichever party you want to return to. Even when you already have parties listed in your "Parties" tab, you may always look for more by simply clicking the "Find Parties" button found at the bottom most part of the tab (refer to the image below).
Later on in the game, when you have people with specific hobbies and traits, there would be instances where parties that you might find would also suggest "Ideal Attendees". Ideal Attendees, are the people in your house that tend to benefit more in other people's houses as they have specific activities available to them that is beneficial to either your sim's work or hobby.
In the image above, it shows that two of our residents may benefit from attending to a particular "Foodie Party". Below the Male sim, you'll see that there are two icons. These icons mean that he can benefit from work related attributes, as well as for hobby related ones. Note: Briefcase means work, and Puzzle Piece means hobby. There are also levels for these benefits and are indicated by color. Other than that, you'll also see the possible rewards from taking part in a particular party.
