Heroes Guide
More Sea of Conquest
Heroes in Sea of Conquest are one of the most important aspects for improving your power and performance in the game. These allow you to crew your ships to gain extra stats, to perform better in naval battles and to increase your strength in the close quarters battles so you can advance in the Trials.
Below is our guide to getting and using heroes in Sea of Conquest, including a list of the current heroes available to obtain.
Hero Basics
Heroes come in 3 levels of rarity
- Legendary (Orange)
- Epic (Purple)
- Standard (Blue)
There are also Legendary season heroes denoted by the S1 or other next to their name.
The higher the rarity of the hero the better their stats will be, and the more skills you can use, however they will be the hardest to obtain and upgrade.
All heroes will have stats for combat, various abilities and skills that need to be unlocked to use. You will need to level up the heroes to increase their power. More details about these are below.
Hero Positions
Here are 3 positions for the Hero. This determines where they will work best when stationed on your ships. The Positions are
- Captain
- First Mate
- Gunner
There is also 'Jack-of-all-trades' which means that the hero will be useful in any position on a ship.
How to get Heroes
There are some heroes that you can opt to unlock via purchase in the game store, and others such as Will that you may unlock through events or as rewards for playing the game missions. All heroes though can be recruited through the Recruitment option found by tapping on the Rocky icon on the bottom right. You will need to reach chapter 6 or 7 in the main plot when you start playing for this to be available.
There are several options when recruiting heroes all of which let you earn hero fragments, yo need to earn 50 fragments of one hero to recruit them. With each recruitment there is the chance to earn a full 50 fragments.
The types of recruitment are:
Standard Recruitment
E.g. United Front
- Requires 1 Echo Conch item for each recruitment attempt, but you will have 1 free attempt each day.
- Every 10 attempts will result in a guaranteed Epic or higher hero.
- Every 100 attempts guarantees a Legendary Hero
Limited Recruitment
e.g. Bullet Storm
- Requires 1 Hymn Conch item for each recruitment attempt
- These are time limited recruitment banners that offer increased chances of recruiting specific Epic or Legendary heroes.
- Every 10 attempts will result in a guaranteed Epic or higher hero.
- Every 80 attempts guarantees a Legendary Hero
Starter Recruitment
Hit the Sea II
- Requires 1 Echo Conch item for each recruitment attempt
- You can make 50 recruitment attempts in this section and you will be guaranteed to gain either Luna or Ahab Legendary heroes within the 50 attempts.
Hero Skills
Each hero has 3 -5 skills that can be unlocked, the first one will be active when yo recruit the hero and more are unlocked as you increase the Rank (see below).
Each skill will have an affect or ability that you can apply during Naval battles and / or close combat battles. Close combat is the hero turn base battles that occur during missions or in the Trials.
Class and Attributes
The hero Class and Attribute determines the best use for the hero. Firepower heroes will deal heavy damage while Support heroes will heal and defense will shield your party.
Classes:
- Firepower
- Defense
- Support
Hero Levels
The heroes stats that include strength, Speed etc are all increased by leveling up. To level up a Hero you need to earn Hero EXP which might be through using the hero in combat or buy applying Hero EXP items that you earn from missions and events or by buying them in the game.
Your max hero level will be limited by your characters Adventure level. (defeat enemies to increase)
Hero Ranks
Each hero also has ranks. Unlocking new rank levels will unlock the extra skills and also add bonuses to your stats.
To unlock a rank you need to obtain Hero badges (or fragments). These come from the hero recruitment or through game purchases. Recruiting a duplicate hero will gain you 50 badges to use for rank upgrades.
Trinkets
Trinkets have been added to Sea of Conquest as a further way to boost Heroes strengths and give use to the Conches. You can gain Trinkets through the same Conches system as the hero recruitment and with their own banners you can use the conches that you earn to try to gain the higher level Trinkets that offer the best benefits. Trinkets also come in the same 3 levels or rarity. Legendary (gold), Epic (purple), Rare (blue).
Each hero can be assigned with one Trinket and the trinkets themselves and be upgraded with Eternal Flame items that you gain from the Trials. You should look for complimentary trinkets that match your heroes. Some will offer healing boosts, while others will increase attack.
