Leveling Up Fast in Sea of Conquest

As a long term real time strategy game Sea of Conquest is one that focuses heavily on combat and team competition. As such your might combat strength will be very important if you want to be part of the dominant gangs in the game.

In this guide we will look at the main areas that you need to level up in order to get stronger and the best ways to do that.

Adventure Level

You will see your Adventure level in the top left below your Avatar image. Your adventure level is a measure of your overall activity in the game. It does not directly affect your strength but increasing it is important as it acts as a cap to your Hero levels which are an important factor for your power level.

Note that the Adventure level itself will have a maximum cap in each season of the game. In season 1 it is capped at 50, then in season 2 it will raise to 80. Season 3 lifts it again to 100.

Increasing the Adventure level is done though earning Adventure Experience points, and there are many ways to to this as listed below:

  • Map Exploration

Discovering the many Ports / Strongholds and Checkpoints in the sea is an essential part of the game as they will bring in many rewards including Adventure Exp. It also clears the fog and allows you to find new places to trade. Areas of the maps for your season will unlock over time and making sure to branch our and explore the new territory will let you gain many advantages.

As doing this will require the use of the Golden compasses which you will have a limited number of every day (20) you should make sure to use up your opportunites regularly to make sure you have the chance to explore the entire map.

  • Daily Missions

The list of daily missions that you can complete such as recruiting heroes, sinking freighters, using speed ups etc. will also let you unlock reward chests every day. many of these will contain Adventure experience.

  • Quests and Tasks

The game will have a main story lines to follow as well as side quests in the first season. These can be easily followed and each one will boost your adventure esperience.

  • Hunt Monsters

The sea monsters in the world are a good source of Adventure experience. You can kill as many of these as you want but you will get the main rewards for only the first 5 each day. It is recommended to team up with others to take down the highest level that you can find (the levels available will increase over time) to make sure you get the vest rewards.

  • Hunt ShipsAs with the Sea monsters the Armed freighters and also Merchant ships will let you earn Adventure experience when you sink them. You can also team up for greater rewards. Remember that sinking Merchant ships will increase your infamy and possibly place a bounty on your head making you a target for others.

Flagship and Fleet Ships

Upgrading the ships in your fleet is a process of grinding (or buying) the resources needed and at higher levels of the time taken to complete the upgrades. You flagship level will determine both the number of other fleet ships you can use in battles and their maximum level so you need to work on that first. Upgrading it will also increase the space available to build cabins and the number of certain cabins that you can construct.

The flag ship itself will require Wood and Iron to upgrade as well as Gold. Wood and Iron come from many sources in the game as rewards or though the cabins dedicated to producing them. Gold is also earned as rewards, though events, sinking ships and Trading. It is advised to set up auto trading whenever you are not online to maximise the gold production.

You can also get gold through selling cooked food in the Mess Hall cabin in your ship.

Upgrading the Flagship will require the upgrade of other cabins in the ship and as you level up the time taken for each of the upgrades will increase. To upgrade fast you will need to earn or buy speedup items. Make sure to look for these in the various stalls especially the Gang Market to give yourself the best chance to fast forward though the development.

Tip: If you are able to invest any money in the game then purchasing the additional Shipbuilders Study will go a long way to boosting your development speed. This gives you an extra build queue so that you can upgrade 3 cabins at a time and upgrading it along with the other Shipbuilder's studies will also reduce the time taken for any future upgrades.

You can check out the various upgrade requirements for each level of your flagship in the Flagship Upgrade Requirements guide

Flagship Milestones

Reaching specific flagship levels will offer extra improvements.

Level 12 - Equip Level 12 ship parts

Level 18 - Equip Level 18 ship parts

Level 22 - up to 3 Fleet ships (total 4)

Level 25 - Equip Level 25 ship parts

Level 31 - up to 4 Fleet ships (total 5)

Fleet ships

Your other Fleet ships only need Gold and specific wood items to upgrade them, although the amount needed will increase at each level making earning lots of gold an important part of the game. The Pirate Revel event is a useful one to complete to earn extra gold and trading every day will help you get the need amounts.

The wood items for each class of ship are earned from sinking armed freighters, or you can find them in various stalls. Higher level freighters drop better quality wood.

Heroes

Your heroes are arguably the most important factor in your overall combat strength. The skills and bonuses that they can provide to your ships when fighting others can turn the tide of any battle in your favor if they are strong. A lower level flagship with well developed heroes can sink higher level opponents if their heroes are not up to scratch.

There are many ways to make your hero stronger, but first you need to recruit them. This is done using the Conches to summon a hero at random. There are several options available using wither standard Echo conches or the rarer Hymn Conch. These can be obtained though completing events in the game, bought in the stalls with emeralds or other event currencies. Or of course purchased in the Market with real money.

Level Up

Once you have a hero there are ways to make them stronger. The fist way is their Level which will gradually increase their main stats and at some points also open up skill levels. Leveling up is done through gaining Exp. points.

The max level of a hero is capped by your own Adventure level, So if you are at adventure level 40 then you can only level up your heroes to level 40.

There are two items you can use to increase Exp and your level. He first is the Book items called Single piece's. These come in Volume levels themselves with higher volumes offering higher Exp. The main source of these will be through sinking Armed Freighters, although there will also come from Event Rewards and can be found int he Stalls. It is recommended that you use up all of your available stamina every day taking out Armed Freighters and where possible team up with your gang to take out the highest level available as these will grant higher level books.

The other item you can use to gain Exp is the Sea Soul Stone that you gain from the Trials. Completing Trials levels will increase an AFK reward that you need to claim at least once every 24 hours to earn Sea Souls Stones. You can also earn other useful rewards here.

Rank Up

Their Rank (star level) is increased with the Hero Badges (fragments) which are obtained though duplicate recruitment with more conches. A heroes rank can be increased to to level 12 and each upgrade will add to their stats as well as in some cases unlock skills.

Skills

Each hero has Skills that allow them to make active or passive attacks / effects in both the hero combat of the Trials / Rogue's Rumble and also in Naval combat. The skills are unlocked and the max levels increased by Leveling up and increasing Rank as above. Once they are unlocked for you you then need to use Cigars to upgrade them. You can also gain these from event rewards and through the stalls.

Each hero needs specific pipes to upgrade their skills.

  • Legendary Heroes - Master Pipe (gold)
  • Epic Heroes - Royal Cigar (purple)
  • Rare Heroes - Sunshine Cigar (blue)

The number of the cigars that you need for each skill level will increase as the level rises.

Trinkets

There is an addition to the Heroes system that allow you to also use the Conches to gain specific items called Trinkets. Each hero can be assigned a single trinket that will offer further boosts to abilities and stats. These also come in levels of Legendary, Epic and Rare and can be leveled up using another item called Eternal Flame in the Sea. This is also gained from the Trials so make sure to push through to as high a level in the trials as you can to maximize your rewards there.

Hero assignment

As a note it is a good idea to try to match Heroes and their Trinkets to your ships in your fleet. Each ship can have strengths and these can be amplified with the type of heroes that you assign to them as well as the Trinkets they hold. Support ships with support heroes using healing trinkets, or Blazing damage ships with similar hoers and trinkets will let you increase your effectiveness in battles.

Stargazing

Once you build the Astrologers Chamber cabin in the Flagship you can start star gazing. This is akin to the Research functions in other games where you will unlock specific bonuses and benefits. Initially you will have a single section of stargazing to work on and these will have 'constellations' of stars to work through which will unlock as you level up.

As you progress to other seasons in the game more lists of stargazing constellations will become available for you. Stargazing also requires Gold to start and speedups to rush through if you want to to gain power quickly.
